Hygiene , Language, and Appearance:

Though we do not have a strict dress code, we would like the day to be welcoming to all players. As it is mentioned in the official tournament guidelines, one of the player responsibilities is general hygiene, using age-appropriate language, and avoiding explicit artwork on sleeves, clothing, and playmats.

Accessibility:

General Accessibility

Though the store is wheelchair friendly, currently the guest elevator is broken. If you require disabled access, please let us know and we will collect you at the back entrance and use the service elevator.
Please contact us beforehand so we can arrange this for you and supply you with a different address so you can go directly to the right entrance.

We feel inclusion is important and are happy to provide a solution!

Because other tournaments will be held at Spel en Meer on the same day, we want to mention that the atmosphere will likely be loud and busy, and outside stimulants could be higher than regular. If you have trouble with these circumstances, please let us know, and we can see what we can do to accommodate. But our options could be limited.

Fixed seating:

Seating for games will be determined due to matchups, however there will be limited seating for individuals that have a hard time moving. Please indicate beforehand if you would prefer a dedicated seat.

For these seats we try to avoid reseating you as much as possible, to make the day easier to manage. In the event we cannot avoid moving the seat due to matchmaking (if you are matched with another player with fixed seating) a organisation volunteer will assist you in moving to the location (and back) if needed.

Disability toilet:

There is a disabled toilet present in the venue. All toilets are general use toilets, but in the unfortunate event of a queue, we would like to remind our able bodied guests that some people need that specific toilet and not every disability is visually present. At the same time, some disabilities do not allow for long lines. If another guest indicates an urgent need to use the disability toilets, please do not question them and permit them access. For people, the step to ask can already be a major challenge.

Food:

Arcolano Milk & Eat Me Energy Bars

As you can expect from most boardgame store with a play area, Spel en Meer does offer multiple options of snacks and drinks. We have asked them to stock up on plenty of Eat Me Energy Bars and Arcolano Milk, to make sure that you can maintain an utmost focus on the games you will be playing.

Should by any unfortunate chance the E.M.E.B. and milk run out, there are plenty of other options on offer at the venue. There will be hot drinks like Coffee and Tea, Cold drinks in the form of different kinds of soda, (Cola, Monster Energy, Fanta to name a few.) and a wide array of snacks.

Outside food is not allowed, but no one is going to give you a hard time if you bring a sandwich for lunch and a bottle of water. But we are able to play at the venue for low admittance, and we hope you will join us in supporting the store and buy your snacks and drinks there.

What about lunch/dinner?

There are multiple options for lunch/dinner, but it is perfectly fine to bring your own lunch, just don’t go overboard with it.

For dinner there are several options nearby.

Should you be wondering more about the available snacks and drinks options, or wonder about diet/allergy options, please send us an email, and we’ll see what is available for sale.
